Mountainscape are a band from the United Kingdom that plays a mixture of ambient, black, doom, sludge and doom metal and this is a review of their 2021 album "Acceptance" which will be released on February 26th by Trepanation Recordings.
Post rick style riffing starts off the album while all of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them. When synths are utilized they also bring in elements of ambient along with the slower sections of the songs also adding in the heaviness of sludge and doom metal.
When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very dark yet melodic style while all of the music is instrumental. All of the tracks are very long and epic in length along with the songs also adding in a decent amount of clean playing along with some black metal style tremolo picking and blast beats being utilized when the music speeds up and throughout the recording you can also hear a decent mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts.
Mountainscape plays a musical style that takes ambient and post rock and mixes it with black, sludge and doom metal to create a sound of their own as well as keeping everything instrumental while the production sounds very professional.
In my opinion Mountainscape are a very great sounding mixture of ambient, black, sludge, doom and post metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Supernova" "Lavawalker" and "Descent". 8 out of 10.
