The Omega Swarm are a band from Germany that plays an atmospheric, melodic and symphonic mixture of black and death metal and this is a review of their 2024 album "Crimson Demise" which was released by Van Records.
Apocalyptic sounding synths start off the album and also mixes in with the heavier sections of the songs while also adding in some atmospheric and symphonic touches. Vocals are a mixture of death metal growls and black metal screams along with the faster sections of the songs also adding in a great amount of blast beats.
Melodies are also added into a lot of the guitar riffing while some of the tracks are also long and epic in length. Throughout the recording you can also hear a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts along with some of the fast riffs also mixing in a good amount of tremolo picking.
Whispers can also be heard briefly along with the solos and leads also being done in a very melodic style. Clean playing is also added into certain sections of the album as well as a couple of tracks also adding in a small amount of spoken words, a later track also adds in a brief use of clear singing. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover apocalyptic themes.
In my opinion The Omega Swarm are a very great sounding atmospheric, melodic and symphonic mixture of black and death metal and if you are of a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Black Veiled Source" "Lethal Increase" and "Vacuum Within". 8 out of 10.
