Keyboards and synths start off the album while also mixing in with the heavier sections of the songs while the slower riffs also add in elements of doom metal. When guitar solos and leads are utilized they are also done in a very melodic style as well as the vocals adding in more of a clear singing style.
At times the music also gets very experimental and progressive sounding while also adding in touches of gothic metal. Melodies are also added into a lot of the guitar riffing along with all of the tracks also being very long and epic in length along with a couple of tracks also adding in a small amount of harsh black metal screams
Effects are also used quite a bit throughout the album along with some flutes and organs also being introduced on later tracks. Clean playing can also be heard briefly as well some spoken words also being used at times and the closing track brings in more of an orchestral style. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover melancholy and poetic themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Green Carnation and if you are a fan of avant garde, experimental and progressive black, doom and gothic metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Unconditional Artificial Chemistry" and "Broken Souls, COmmon Enemies". 8 out of 10.
