This is a review of a split album between Turkey's Earhead and Colorado's Deathcentrik which is called "An Anthology" and self released in the year of 2013 and we will start off the review with Earhead a 1 man band that plays harsh noise with elements of black metal.
'The Guy Killed His Wife, His Children And Then Cut Off His Own Penis" which is also the first song on his side of the split opens up with static sounds and a few seconds later spoken word parts and programmed beats make their way into the song which then leads up to harsh power electronics.
'New Verses From The Sumerian God" begins with drum programmed and harsh power electronics and a few seconds alter spoken word samples come in, a few minutes later avant garde sounds come in, as time goes on by demonic growls are added into the song along with some dark industrial elements.
"Holocaust At The Disco" opens up with static sounding noises along with some loops and power electronics that also bring in harsh noise elements and after awhile the song adds in atmospheric sounding synths and dark ambient elements as well as some drum programming
"Holocaust At The Disco-Kill The Survivors" starts up with some dark sounds that get more harsh as time goes on by as well as elements of ambient noise and towards the end atmospheric synths are added into the music.
"Deus est Mortuus" kicks in with dark ambient drone sounds and a few seconds later experimental sounds and drum programming come in along with some loops before adding in industrial and harsh noise elements.
"In The Mind Of A Psychopath" comes in with ambient style noises along with some programmed beats which also leads up to some whispers before adding in harsh sounding loops, as the song moves on aggressive vocals and synths start to come in.
"We Need To Talk About Noise, Fuck Kevin!" is introduced with soft sounds before getting darker along with sounds of thunder which then leads up to dark ambient/drones and synths kicking in before adding in harsh power electronics and a few seconds alter spoken word parts come in.
"Hellish" which is also the last song on his side of the split begins with harsh noise sounds, black metal screams and death metal growls and the song goes into a brutal death industrial/power electronics direction.
Song themes cover darkness, violence and Sumerian themes, while the production has a very harsh, brutal, raw and primitive sound to it along with the songs being very long and epic in length.
In my opinion Earhead are a very great sounding harsh noise project with elements of black metal and death industrial and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out his side of the split. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Guy Killed His Wife, His Children And Then Cut Off His Own Penis" and "In The Mind Of A Psychopath". RECOMMENDED.
