Dawn Of Existence are a duo from San Antonio, Texas that plays a very melodic form of blackened death metal and this is a review of their self released 2023 album "Ancient Arts".
Melodic guitar solos and leads start off the album while keyboards can also be heard at times and the riffs also add in a lot of melody. Vocals are mostly death metal growls along with a small amount of grim black metal screams All of the musical instruments on the recording also have a very powerful sound to them
When the music speeds up a decent amount of tremolo picking and blast beats can also be heard while the album also adds in a lot of Swedish influences. Clear vocals are also utilized briefly along with the songs also adding in a good mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as one track also adding in a brief use of spoken word samples, clean playing can also be heard on one song.
Dawn Of Existence plays a musical style that takes the melodic forms of black and death metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover Occultism, Paranormal, Cosmology, History and Fantasy themes.
In my opinion Dawn of Existence are a very great sounding melodic blackened death emtal b and and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Marble Garden" "Mystic Serpent" and "Mett me At The Stake". 8 out of 10.
