Gnash are a band from Columbus that plays a mixture of black, death and sludge metal and this is a review of their self released 2022 ep "Shared Nightmares".
A very powerful sounding bass guitar starts off the ep before going into a heavier sludge metal direction while melodies are also added into some of the guitar riffing. Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams while the songs also add in a decent amount of death metal elements.
All of the music also sticks to a slower direction while the solos and leads are also done in a very melodic style when they are utilized and all of the tracks also keep everything more in a heavier musical style.
Gnash plays a musical style that takes black, death and sludge metal and mixes them together to create a sound of their own. The production sounds very professional while the lyrics are a concept album based upon a tale of two conjoined twins which one half of the pair dies and the other one has to move in a life with him attached.
In my opinion Gnash are a very great sounding mixture of black, death and sludge metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Darker Half" and "Sacrificial bastard". 8 out of 10.
