DungeonHammer are an international duo that has been featured before in this zine with the band members being from France and the Netherlands and plays a mixture of black, doom, thrash metal and punk and this is a review of their 2018 album "Infernal Moon" which will be released in October by Me Saco Un Ojo.
A very dark and heavy sound starts off the album along with the music being heavily rooted in the 80's while both the vocals and riffs show a Hellhammer/Celtic Frost influence as well as all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to t hem and the slower sections of the songs bring in elements of doom metal.
When the music speeds up elements of punk and d beat can also be heard while solos and leads when they are utilized are done in a very melodic and old school style along with some of the songs being very long and epic in length and they also manage to make a retro style sound more modern as well as one track also adding in a brief use of acoustic guitars and blast beats can also be heard briefly.
DungeonHammer creates another recording that remains true to their mixture of black, doom, thrash metal and punk, the production sounds very old school while the lyrics cover darkness and death themes.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from DungeonHammer and if you are a fan of black, doom, thrash metal and punk, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Infernal Moon" "Perpetual Funeral Winds" and "Ad Infinitum". 8 out of 10.
