Hungary's Perihelion have returned with a new recording that continues the avant garde style of post black metal from previous releases and this is a review of their 2017 album "Orveny" which will be released in November by Apathia Records.
Heavy riffs along with some clean avant garde style vocals start off the album while all of t he musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them as well as the riffs also bringing in a great amount of melody and when guitar leads are utilized they are done in a very melodic post metal style.
Synths can also be heard at times along with the music being very experimental along with some of the riffing also adding in elements of post punk and clean guitars are also added into certain sections of the recording and after awhile black metal screams start to make their presence known and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and blast beats are also used briefly.
Perihelion creates a recording that goes for more of an avant garde post metal style while the influence of black metal is still there, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Hungarian ans cover dreamlike passages towards the subconscious.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Perihelion and if you are a fan of avant garde and post black metal, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Kihalt Egi Folyosok" "Fenyt!" and "Bardo". 8 out of 10.
