Profane Burial/Desolate Echoes Of Turmoil/These Hands Melt/2026 Full Length Review

  Norway's  Profane  Burial  have  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  progressive  and  symphonic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2026  album  "Desolate  Echoes  of  Turmoil"  which  will  be  released  in  July  by  These  Hands  Melt.

  A  very  dark  and  heavy  sound  starts  off  the  album  along  with  a  great  amount  of  symphonic  elements  and  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.  Melodies  are  also  added  into  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  also  add  in  a  great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats.

  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  sounding  black  metal  screams  while  all  of  the  tracks  are  also  very  long  and  epic  in  length.  At  times  the  music  gets  very  progressive  sounding  along  with  the  songs  also  adding  in a   good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  and  growls  are  also  utilized  at  times.  

  On  this  recording  Profane  Burial  continue  to  expand  on  the  progressive  and  symphonic  style  of  black  metal  that  they  introduced  on  their  previous  release.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  thematic  darkness  and  psychological  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Profane  Burial  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  progressive  and  symphonic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Prognostic  Augural  Obsolescence"  and  "Malicious Discomfort".  8  out  of  10.

Profane Burial/My Plateau/Crime Records/2024 Full Length Review

 

  Profane  Burial  are  a  band  from  Norway  that  has  had  music  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  symphonic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2024  album  "My  Plateau"  which  will  be  released  in  march  by  Crime  Records.

  A  very  heavy  and  symphonic  sound  starts  off  the  album  while  the  solos  and  leads  are  also  done  in a   very  melodic  style.  Vocals  are  mostly  grim  black  metal  screams  along  with  the  riffs  also  adding  in a   lot  of  melody  and  when  the  music  speeds  up a   great  amount  of  tremolo  picking  and  blast  beats  can  be  heard.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  the  album  also  has  its  atmospheric  moments.  At  times  the  music  also  gets  very  progressive  and  cinematic  sounding  along  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  also  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them,  choirs  can  also b e  heard  briefly  and  a  couple  of  tracks  are  also  long  and  epic  in  length.

  On  this  recording  Profane  Burial  takes  their  symphonic  style  of  black  metal  into  more  of  an  atmospheric,  cinematic  and  progressive  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  curses,  fantasy,  horror,  magick,  witchery  and  ghosts.   

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  Profane  Burial  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  symphonic  black  metal,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INC:LUDE  "Moribund"  and  "Horror  Code".  8  out  of  10.

Profane Burial/The Rosewater Park Legend/Apathia Records/2018 CD Review

  Profane  Burial  are  a  band  from  Norway  that  plays  a  very  symphonic  form  of  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2018  album  "The  Rosewater Park  Legend" which  will  be  released  in  March  by  Apathia  Records.

  Choir  style  vocals  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  symphonic  elements  which  also  mixes  in  with  the  more  heavier  and  melodic  side  of  the  music  while  the  faster  sections  of  the  songs  bring  in  a  great  amount  of  blast  beats  along  with  the  vocals  being  mostly  grim  black  metal  screams.

  When  guitar  solos  and  leads  are  utilized  they  are  done  in  a  very  melodic  fashion  while  cinematic  elements  can  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording  along  with  most  of  the  tracks  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length  as  well  as  all  of  the  musical  instruments  having  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them.

  Throughout  the  recording  you  can  also  hear  a  great  mixture  of  slow  mid  paced  and  fast  parts  while  female  vocals  can  also  be  heard  at  times  along  with  a  great  amount  of  orchestral  structures  along  with  the  riffing  also  getting  very  modern  and  technical  in  some  parts  of  the  songs.

  Profane  Burial  plays  a  style  of  black  metal  that  is  very  symphonic,  melodic  and  cinematic  sounding,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness  and  witchcraft  themes.

  In  my  opinion  Profane  Burial  are  a  very  great  sounding  symphonic  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Tower  Bell"  "A  Different  Awakening  (A  Proclamation  By  A  Priest)"  and  "The  Tale  The  Witches  Wrote".  8  out  of  10.
