King Satan/Occult Spiritual Anarchy/Blood Blast Distribution/Electric Spark Records/Hemelvlam/2022 Full Length Review

 

  Finland's  King  Satan  has  returned  with  a  new  recording  which  shows  the  music  going  for  a  mixture  of  industrial,  symphonic  black  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2022  album  "Occult  Spiritual  Anarchy"  which  will b e  released  in  April  as  a  joint  effort  between  Blood  Blast  Distribution,  Electric  Spark  Records  an d  Hemelvlam.

  Elements  of  industrial  start  off  the  album  and  also  mixes  in  with  the  heavier  sections  of  the  songs  at  times  while  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  quite  a  bit  throughout  the  recording.  When  keyboards  and  synths  are  utilized  they  also  add  in  some  symphonic  touches  and  the  vocals  are  a  mixture  of  black  metal  screams  and  death  metal  growls.

  When  the  music  speeds  up  a  decent  amount  of  blast  beats  can  also  be  heard  while  the  songs  also  add  in  a  good  mixture  of  slow,  mid  paced  and  fast  parts.  Shouting  vocals  are  also  a  very  huge  part  of  the  recording  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  also  being  done  in  a  very  melodic  style.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  on  the  recording  also  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  bringing  in  more  of  a  traditional  rock/metal  style  when  they  are  utilized  as  well  as  a  few  tracks also  adding  in  a  small  amount  of  female  vocals.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while t he  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  occultism,  paganism,  Philosophical,  Blasphemy,  Dark  Humour  and  Nihilistic  Absurdism  themes.

  In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  recording  from  King  Satan  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  industrial,  symphonic  black  and  death  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  album.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Left  Hand  Path  Symphony"  "Human  Sacrifice"  "Beyond  God"  and  "Spiritual  Anarchy".  8  out  of  10.

King Satan/I Want You To Worship Satan/Inverse Records/2019 CD Review

  King  Satan  are  a  solo  project  from  Finland  that  has  had  an  album  reviewed  before  in  this  zine  and  plays  a  mixture  of  industrial  and  black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2019  album  "I  Want  You  To  Worship  Satan"  which  will  be  released  in  November  by  inverse  Records.

  Heavy  riffing  and  industrial  elements  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  distorted  vocals  and  black  metal  screams  a  few  seconds  alter.  All  of  the  drum  beats  are  programmed  while  synths  are  a  very  huge  part  of  the  recording  as  well  as  the  music  also  mixing  in  a  great  amount  of  aggrotech  elements.

  All  of  the  musical  instruments  have  a  very  powerful  sound  to  them  while  spoken  word  parts  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording.  Female  vocals  can  also  be  heard  on  a  few  tracks  along  with  the  solos  and  leads  bringing  in  more  of  a  melodic  hard  rock  style  when  they  are  utilized.

  Growls  can  also  be  heard  in  certain  sections  of  the  recording  along  with  some  samples  also  being  utilized  at  times  as  well  as  some  songs  also  adding  in  elements  of  death  punk,  melodies  can  also  be  heard  in  some  of  the  guitar  riffing  and  all  of  the  songs  stick  to  a  mid  tempo  direction.  The  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occultism,  Chaos  Magick  and  Anti  Christianity  themes.

King Satan/King Fucking Satan/Saturnal Records/2017 CD Review

  King  Satan  are  a  solo  project  from  Finland  that  plays  a  mixture  of  industrial  and black  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  his  2017  album  "King  Fucking  Satan"  which  will  be  released  in  May  by  Saturnal  Records.

  Industrial  sounds  start  off  the  album  along  with  some  heavy  riffs  and  distorted  vocals  start  off t he  album  along  with  some  black  metal  screams  also  being  used  at  times  and  you  can  also  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  the  recording  while  elements  of  ebm  are  also  used  at  times.

   In  some  parts  of t he  songs  the  vocals  bring  in a  more  melodic  tone  while  influences  of  death  metal  and  aggrotech  are  also  added  into  most  of  the  tracks  along  with  a  touch  of  hard  rock  and  spoken  word  parts  are  also  used  at  times  and  one  track  also  brings  in a  brief  use  of  female  vocals  while  they  have  more  of  a  punk  feeling  when t hey  are utilized  and  clean   playing  is  also  used  briefly.

  King  Satan   plays  a  musical  style  that  mixes  black  metal,  industrial,  ebm  and  aggrotech  to  create  something  original,  the  production  sounds  very  professional  while  the  lyrics  cover  Satanism,  Occult  Philosophy  and  Psychological  themes.


  In  my  opinion  King  Satan  are  a  very  great  sounding  mixture  of  industrial  and  black  metal  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  those  musical  genres,  you  should  check  out  this  solo  project.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Dance  With  The  Devil"  "Sex  Magick"  "Spiritual  Anarchy"  and  "Kali  Yuga  Algorithm".  8  out  of  10.
