Huldre are a band from Denmark that plays folk metal and this is a review of their 2016 album "Tusmorke" which will be released in November by Gateway Music.
Heavy guitars and folk instruments start off the album and all of the musical instruments on the recording have a very powerful sound to them and female vocals are also a very huge part of the songs and clean playing can be heard in certain sections of the recording while the riffs also bring in a decent amount of melody.
When the music speeds up tremolo picking along with blast beats can be heard as well as a brief use of black metal screams while most of the music sticks to either a slow or mid paced musical direction and a couple of the tracks are very long and epic in length and acoustic guitars are also used on a couple of songs while a later track introduces melodic guitar leads onto the recording.
Huldre plays a style of folk metal that is very traditional and melodic while also having a slight black metal influence, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Danish and cover Danish Mythology and Folklore.
In my opinion Huldre are a very great sounding folk metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Jagt" :Varulv" "Morke" and "Nattesorg". 8 out of 10.
